Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco Stay-IN-Play supplemental braking system on a 2021 Toyota Tacoma. Now this is gonna be available in two different configurations. Really comes down to how you wanna indicate that it's braking. On ours today, we have a three-LED light, you can also get the wireless coach link, which I highly recommend. That way you can have a monitor light on the dash on the RV, letting you know that the brakes are being applied or if they're dragging. Now there's five main components that are required for flat towing any vehicle, and we'll break those down. more

Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit Installation - 2019 Toyota Corolla- Video

Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit Installation - 2019 Toyota Corolla

Rob: Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster brake light relay on our 2019 Toyota Corolla. So we have our Corolla hooked up to our motor home and you can see the lights are all working, we got our turn signals going. But the need for a brake light relay comes in if you have a supplemental braking system and you're towing your Corolla. Right now the lights are working normally, but if that braking system comes in and applies the brakes, it's going to override the turn signal, which creates a really unsafe environment.Nobody's going to know if we're turning, or we're changing lanes, because the lights going to get overridden and go solid. So again, if we're sitting at a stoplight, nobody knows that we're going to need to turn. Or, if we're driving down the highway and the light goes solid, we don't have that safety of the signal getting back to everybody around us. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Tacoma, we're gonna be installing SMI Stay and Play Duo Supplemental Braking System, part number SM99251. This braking system's gonna be a permanently mounted hidden option, so that way it's gonna be ready whenever you are to hook up your RV. You simply switch the switch on, and you're ready to hit the road. It's gonna be a proportional braking system, so it's gonna work with the vehicle as you're moving down the road. Whenever you brake in your RV, the inertia sensor here will sense it and it'll cause the braking system to brake with that inertia. The brakes area applied via a air-powered actuating cylinder here. more

Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit Installation - 2017 Toyota Corolla iM

Today in our 2017 Toyota Corolla iM we will be having a look at and installing the Roadmaster Brake Light Relay Kit for towed vehicles, part number RM-88400. All right, with our brake relay installed, what it does is allow us to disable our vehicle's brake light switch when our vehicle is in tow mode, that way when our vehicle is being pulled behind our RV, and our RV has its turn signal on, and the brakes are depressed inside our vehicle by our supplemental braking system, we don't have to worry about our brake lights overriding the signal from our RV to turn our turn signal on. Now, it's really cool about this is the fact that once you unhook from your RV and you're ready to drive your vehicle around town at your destination, you don't have to worry about pulling any fuses, or putting a fuse back in, or flipping any switches. All you do, just turn your key on, and the relay automatically will send your brake light signal back to your brake lights in the back of your vehicle. To enter it back into tow mode, all you do is take the key out of the ignition, and there you go. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get it installed. Okay, now we're going to be working on the driver side floor board of our vehicle. We'll be working in the area right above our pedals here. more
